ROBOT INTELLIGENCE

What Should a Home Robot Actually Be Able to Do?

Use this checklist to evaluate household robots beyond impressive demo videos.

A useful home robot needs more than human-like movement. Buyers should evaluate repeatability, safety, manipulation, navigation, battery life, charging, noise, privacy, support and the exact tasks supported at delivery.

Ask for task-level evidence

Instead of asking whether a robot is “AI powered,” ask whether it can reliably perform your intended task in an ordinary home, how long it takes, what supervision is required and what happens when the environment changes.
