About Unitree G1
Unitree G1 overview
Unitree G1 is one of the better-known lower-cost humanoid development platforms. The base G1 is compact, foldable and commercially listed, while EDU configurations add development options and dexterous-hand choices.
What it is designed to do
The G1 platform is primarily a development and embodied-AI robot rather than a finished household appliance. Unitree promotes reinforcement learning, imitation learning, motion control and optional dexterous manipulation.
Hardware and movement
Official G1 specifications list roughly 132 cm standing height, about 35 kg weight, 23 joints on the base model and up to 43 on EDU configurations. A quick-release 9,000 mAh battery provides about two hours of runtime.
AI, autonomy and control
Unitree exposes a development ecosystem for embodied AI. Higher configurations can add computing such as NVIDIA Orin and dexterous hands; buyers should compare exact configurations rather than assuming every demo feature is included in the base price.
Buying status
The official Unitree store lists G1 from US$13,500 before tax and shipping. Unitree also now markets G1+ at US$15,000 with upgraded sensing and actuation.
Who should consider it?
A strong fit for robotics labs, universities, developers and organizations that need a comparatively accessible physical humanoid platform.
